01 - Commercial Auto and Fleet

Single-unit and multi-vehicle fleet coverage for carriers. Cherry insures single-unit trucks, semis, tankers, flatbeds, and specialized equipment haulers. Fleet programs include driver scheduling, vehicle additions and deletions, and dedicated claims support.

02

02 - Motor Truck Cargo

Covers the freight your vehicle is hauling while in transit. If a load is damaged, stolen, or lost in an accident, motor truck cargo coverage pays out the value of the goods. Cherry reviews commodity types and load values when placing cargo coverage.

03

03 - IRP - International Registration Plan

Cherry handles IRP plate processing in-office for carriers operating in multiple jurisdictions. IRP apportioned plates allow commercial vehicles to operate across provinces and US states without purchasing separate registrations in each. IRP processing is handled at one Cherry office, and our transportation brokers manage the filing process.

04

04 - Non-Owned Trailers

If your operation involves pulling trailers owned by other carriers, this coverage protects you while a non-owned trailer is in your care, custody, and control.

05

05 - Owner-Operator Programs

Cherry places insurance for independent owner-operators who lease to carriers.

IRP processed in-office. No third-party filing service required.

Cherry handles International Registration Plan plate applications and renewals directly at one of our offices. Transportation clients manage their fleet and IRP with one office.

TRANSPORTATION INSURANCE FAQ

Questions carriers ask us most.

At minimum, commercial carriers need third-party liability (mandatory), physical damage coverage for the vehicle, and motor truck cargo for loads in transit. IRP apportioned plates are required for vehicles operating across multiple Canadian provinces or US states.

The International Registration Plan (IRP) is a licensing agreement between Canadian provinces and US states that allows commercial vehicles to operate in multiple jurisdictions under a single apportioned registration. Cherry processes IRP applications and renewals in-office.

Motor truck cargo coverage protects the freight your vehicle is transporting. If the load is damaged in an accident, stolen, or lost, cargo coverage pays the value of the goods. Coverage limits and commodity exclusions vary - A Cherry broker can review your typical load types when placing the policy.

If you pull trailers owned by other carriers, non-owned trailer coverage protects you while a trailer that is not yours is in your care, custody, and control. Your primary liability policy typically will not respond to damage to a non-owned trailer - this coverage will.

Fleet policies cover multiple vehicles under one commercial auto policy. Cherry manages fleet additions and deletions, and driver scheduling. Fleet policies typically become cost-effective at five or more vehicles.

Coverage for dangerous goods carriers has specific underwriting requirements and carrier restrictions. Cherry works with specialty markets that cover regulated dangerous goods transportation. Call 306-653-2313 to discuss your operation.
