01

Dwelling Coverage

Coverage for rebuilding your home at today's labour and material costs. Cherry brokers will work with you to review your dwelling limit so it reflects current rebuild costs, not what you paid for the house or what it would sell for.

02

Contents Coverage

Coverage for everything inside the home, furniture, electronics, clothing, appliances. Optional riders are available for jewelry, art, collectibles, and high-value items that may exceed standard limits.

03

Personal Liability

Covers you if someone is injured on your property or if you accidentally cause damage to someone else's property. Standard limit is $1M. Cherry brokers often suggest exploring $2M for most homeowners, the cost difference is typically minimal.

04

Sewer Backup and Overland Water

Two separate endorsements that western Canadian homeowners commonly need. Sewer backup covers water entering through your drains. Overland water covers flooding from spring runoff, heavy rain, or a nearby waterway. Neither is included in a standard policy. Cherry will offer you the best coverage available so a denied claim doesn't catch you off guard.

05

Additional Living Expenses

If your home is uninhabitable after a covered loss, this pays for your temporary accommodation, meals, and related costs while repairs are completed. Standard on most Cherry home policies.

Cherry also insures cabins, acreages, and rural properties.

A cabin in the land of lakes or an acreage under the stars aren't covered the same way as a city home. Cherry brokers understand rural and recreational property to tailor your policy to you.

Home Insurance FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us most.

Coverage should reflect what it would take to rebuild your home at today's construction prices, which is often very different from what you paid for the home or what it would sell for. Cherry brokers will work with you to review your coverage and limits so you have a clearer picture of where you stand.

Sewer backup coverage protects you when water enters your home through a floor drain, toilet, or sewer line, common during spring runoff or heavy rain events. It is not included in a standard home policy. A Cherry broker will help you understand the endorsement options available to you.

Overland water coverage protects against flooding from an external water source, a nearby river, heavy rainfall, or spring melt. It is separate from sewer backup coverage and also not included in a standard policy.

These properties have unique exposures that Cherry brokers address specifically when building your policy.
